Whitening

Professional whitening  is the only intervention able to combine safety and result, allowing a brighter smile to be gained.
This procedure exploits the action of highly concentrated chemical bleaching agents, which are potenziated by external sources to favour a deep action. The most common bleaching medium is hydrogen peroxide based gel which has the ability to release oxygen molecules when exposed to sources of light. Oxygen penetrates the structure of the tooth, triggering oxidation-reduction reactions that break down the molecules which make up the pigments into smaller, colorless and easily eliminated compounds.
Before performing  whitening, the patient must undertake a hygiene session and a pre and post- treatment diet, defined together with the specialized dental hygienist, so as not to compromise the final result.
At our centre, specialized operators will choose the type of treatment best suited to the specific case, to ensure an optimal result. It is possible to resort to different types of bleaching including:

  • Professional (led or LASER)
  • Homecare
  • Combined (professional + homecare)

CLINICAL CASES

PROFESSIONAL WHITENING

Home whitening involves the use of special custom-made masks. These masks have tanks which contain the bleaching agent.
Before putting them on, the patient must fill the reservoirs and then place them on the dental surfaces. Thanks to the accuracy in the construction of the devices, these will adapt perfectly to the dental surfaces, without causing any type of disturbance to the patient.
The duration of the treatment is approximately 1 week, but the time may vary according to the specific case.

HOME WHITENING

Home whitening involves the use of special custom-made masks. These masks have tanks which contain the bleaching agent.
Before putting them on, the patient must fill the reservoirs and then place them on the dental surfaces. Thanks to the accuracy in the construction of the devices, these will adapt perfectly to the dental surfaces, without causing any type of disturbance to the patient.
The duration of the treatment is approximately 1 week, but the time may vary according to the specific case.

COMBINED WHITENING

Combined whitening first involves a professional whitening session and a maintenance program with home whitening.
This type of treatment is particularly suitable for patients with severe dyschromia, which cannot be resolved with the use of a single technique.

To maintain a long-lasting result, a program of scheduled sessions and professional checks, as well as scrupulous oral hygiene at home will be necessary. This allows a stable result to be obtained and to avoid short-term colour changes.
